Obituary Donna M. Rennau, 75, of Washington, passed away at 9:35pm, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Heddington Oaks in Peoria. Donna was born December 31, 1938 in Harrisburg, IL to Ira and Roberta Hederschied Childs. She married Jack A. Rennau, Sr. on December 1, 1956 in Peoria; he survives. Also surviving are their children, Dianna (Larry) Hazelwood; Jack A. (Connie Smith) Rennau, Jr., and Timothy A. Rennau, all of Washington; grandchildren, Josh Rennau, Amanda Rennau, and Jamie McKean; great-grandchildren, Kody and Jade; brothers, Tom Childs and Ira (Ginny) Childs both of Mountain Home, ID, and Charles Childs of Morton. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, and a great-granddaughter, Cameron McKean. Donna retired from Manual High School after 10 years of service in their cafeteria. Prior to that, she worked many, hard years as a waitress in the area. She was a vibrant, active woman who loved to take care of her family. She was an excellent mother, who was stern, but had a heart of gold. She loved to take care of others, and was always sure to offer you a snack or drink when you visited. Donna's family will receive visitors from 5:00-7:00pm, Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation, and inurnment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
