Obituary EAST PEORIAa"Donna J. Brooks, 53, of East Peoria, died at 12:14 AM on Friday, December 14, 2007, at her residence. Born on January 2, 1954 in Peoria, IL to Floyd Junior and Bessie Evelyn Hanlin Lewis, she married Richard Brooks on September 21, 1985 in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Randall Brooks of Indianapolis, IN and Nathan (Elizabeth) Brooks of Peoria Heights, IL; 1 granddaughter, Aili Brooks; her mother, Bessie Evelyn Lewis of Edelstein, IL; 2 brothers, Floyd Lewis of Nevada, and David (Wanda) Lewis of Edelstein, IL, 2 sisters, Cheryl (Tom) Sharpe of Morton, IL and Carol (Robert) Dornon of Edelstein, and her mother-in-law, Kathy Gramm who cared for her during her illness. She was preceded in death by her father. Donna was a Labor Specialist with Komatsu Mining Services for 28 years, until her illness in 2003. She loved scrapbooking and family get-togethers. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Jim Buchanan will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services, from 3:00-5:00 PM at the funeral home on Sunday. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Inurnment of cremated remains will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
