Donna L. Barnes, 75, of Washington, IL, died at 7:45 am Thursday, June 16, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on August 28, 1946 in Peoria, IL to Lloyd H. and Mary V. Bowles Smith, she married Ronald H. "Ronnie" Barnes on October 24, 1981 at Sunnyland Christian Church. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2021 in Peoria, IL. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mary Smith, 1 daughter, Dawn Howard, and grandson Devon Michael Tribbett. Surviving are her kids: Mary Tribbett (Thomas Shafer) of Bellevue, IL, Caryle (Mark) Thompson of Sunnyland, and Darriel Howard of Virginia, grandkids: Jonathan, Dillon, Jordan, Trayton, Bradon, Marky, and Issac, and great-grandkids: Jonathan Tribbett Jr. and Devon Howard, 2 sisters: Juanita (Ed) Birkner of Sunnyland, and Shirley (Roger) Sollenberger of Brimfield, IL and her beloved dog, Bonnie. Donna grew up in Sunnyland and was a graduate of Washington Community High School. She worked as a beautician and waitress for many years. Donna was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who would do anything for anyone. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, cards (poker), and pool. Most importantly, Donna loved spending time with her family. Services will be held from 4-7 pm on Sunday, July 10th at Sunnyland One Stop, 2466 Washington Rd. Sunnyland. Cremation rites have been accorded. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
