Obituary WASHINGTON-Donald W. Widmer, 73, of Washington, IL, died at 5 pm Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his residence, surrounded by his family and friends. Born on January 19, 1938 in Peoria, IL to Harley H. and Rose E. Barnewolt Widmer, he married Susan Lyon-Schraeder on July 19, 1958 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Peoria, IL. She survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Cathleen Widmer and Robert (Nancy) Widmer, both of Metamora, IL, Sheila (Pat) Weisbruch and Mark (Carrie) Widmer, both of Washington, IL; 1 brother, Jack (Mary) Widmer of Metamora, IL; 2 sisters, Judith (Edward) Marriott of Ocala, FL, Roseann (Ronald) Koch of Hazelwood, MO; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Donald was the Vice President of American Allied Railway Equipment Company in Washington, retiring in 2008. He loved watching and coaching his children and grandchildren in the sports that they participated in. Donald was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington since 1959. A funeral mass is at 10 am Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Father Joseph P. Donton will officiate. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Monday, March 21, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, with a prayer service at 6:45 pm.
