Obituary EAST PEORIA - Donald E. Phillips, 69, of Victoria, IL and formerly of East Peoria, died at 5:28 am Sunday, November 25, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on October 7, 1938 in Peoria, IL to William H. and Helen E. Modendricker Phillips, he married Doris Yvonne Severns on July 28, 1962 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Troy Phillips of Pekin, and Todd Phillips of East Peoria, 2 grandsons, Toby and Mills Phillips, both of East Peoria, and 1 granddaughter, Madalyn Phillips of East Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Baxter "Slim" Roberts, and 1 brother, Darrell Phillips. Don was a US Air Force Veteran. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1997. Don was a member of UAW local #974. He loved to hunt, shoot black powder guns, fish, and whittle. After retirement, Don moved to Victoria where he could spend more time hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Services will be at 7 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Rev. Dan Severns will officiate. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service, from 5-7 pm. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
