Donald W. Donehue, 90, of Metamora, formerly of Washington, passed away at 8:40pm, Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Snyder Village Nursing Home in Metamora.

Don was born August 26, 1932 in Norris City to the late Lloyd and Beatrice Bonds Donehue. He married JoAnn (Downey) Hogan on September 10, 1973 in Morton;she survives.

Also surviving is his daughter, Linda (Jim) Fondren of Washington; step-children, Alan (Diane) Hogan of Princeville and Alesia (Mike) Coombs of Burlington, WI; son-in-law Shane Gressett; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lloyd, Jr., Beulah and Henry; and his daughter, Brenda Gressett.

Don worked for Caterpillar for 32 years, retiring in 1982. He went on to work for the Morton Auto Auction for 30 years, only recently retiring. He served in the US Army, being honorably discharged in1960. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Morton. Don was an avid Cardinals fan and enjoyed crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 2:30-4:00pm at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A time of sharing memories and military honors will begin at 4:00pm.

Inurnment will be at American Mausoleum in Peoria.
