Obituary
EAST PEORIA--Donald Dean Aldag, 74, of East Peoria, died peacefully at 6:00 AM, on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at his residence.
Born on April 15, 1932 in Centralia, Illinois to Oscar H. and Georgia A. Geiger Aldag, he married Jean Carol Kerz on October 10, 1953 in Dixon, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are 1 son, Kenneth Dean (Kimberly) Aldag of Washington and 1 daughter, Barbara Jean (Daniel) Son of East Peoria, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lowell and Larry Aldag, a son, Charles Henry Aldag, an infant daughter and his grandson, Joseph Aldag.
Don served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a teacher at Belleville High School from 1956-1967, and then taught Drafting and Heating and Air-conditioning at Illinois Central College from 1967 until his retirement in 1990. He also was owner and operator of Don's Heating and Air-conditioning Inc. in East Peoria.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria where he served as a Trustee and was active with the Methodist Men. He also was a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society and the Rotary Club of East Peoria.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 20, 2006 at his church. The Rev. Dr. Alan Newhall will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3-5PM on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded, with inurnment at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
