Obituary WASHINGTON- Don D. Martin, 76, of Washington passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 6:15PM at Snyder Village in Metamora. Don was born February 8, 1938 in Litchfield, IL to Glenn and Dorothy Owen Martin. He married Rosemary Borror on April 27, 1958 in Litchfield, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Kathy (David) Brown of Bloomington and Krista (Gary) Anderson of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, Drew, Brandi (Grant), Sydney, Ian and Mia; one brother, Terry (Madalyn) Martin of Lady Lake, FL; and several nieces and nephews to whom he was the "favorite uncle". He was preceded in death by his parents. Don was a 1956 graduate of Litchfield High School. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. Don spent 22 years working for Tazewell County in Pekin as the Supervisor of Assessments, retiring in 1998. Don was also an alderman in Washington. He was an active member of the Sunnyland Christian Church. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, model trains, traveling and listening to jazz music. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sunnyland Christian Church. A funeral service for Don will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:00PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Evan Williams will officiate. There will be a visitation an hour prior to the service, from 1:00PM-2:00PM. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
