Obituary

Diana "Di" Maxheimer, 59, of Washington, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at her home in Washington.

Di was born April 5, 1965, the daughter of Franklin and Mariann Maxheimer. Her father, Frank; brothers, Steve and Stan; and nephew, Simon preceded her in death.

She is survived by her mother, Mariann; sisters Susan (Joe) LaHood and Beth Maxheimer LaFollett, all of Washington; plus 11 nieces and nephews, and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Di was a graduate of Illinois State University and worked for her brother Steve at both MAXCO and Pine Lakes Golf Club in Washington. Later, she worked at Riverview Grade School in Spring Bay as a bookkeeper and secretary to the superintendent. She retired from there on June 30, 2020, due to ill health.

In keeping with Di's wishes a celebration of life will be held on Friday, November, 29, 2024, from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the VFW in Washington. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Steve Maxheimer Memorial Scholarship Foundation Fund, Inc., which yearly presents up to 12 scholarships to deserving high school seniors in Washington and other tri-county high schools. Contributions can be mailed to Fondulac Bank, 201 Clock Tower Dr., East Peoria, IL  61611, Attn: Mark Yemm.
