Obituary Deon Marie Coovert, 63, of Washington, passed away at 5:00am, Sunday, July 5, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born September 14, 1951 in Peoria to Russel and Lois Mosley Stamm. She married Thomas David Coovert June 14, 1969 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington; he survives. Also surviving is their son, Anthony (Ann) Coovert of East Peoria; grandsons, Jacob Coovert of Washington, Brogan and Corbin Coovert, and Nate Meinders, all of East Peoria; and siblings, Dorothy Kenagy and Gary (Nancee) Stamm. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Brian D. Coovert. Deon formerly managed the bakery at Thompson's Food Basket in Sunnyland and Morton, but her first job was to care for her family. She and her husband enjoyed spending time together fishing and going out to eat. She was a talented in quilting and embroidery, making many pieces for others. Deon was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Kennel Lake, and was an avid Peoria Mustangs hockey fan. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. A funeral Mass for Deon will be held at 10:00am, Friday July 10, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm, Thursday July 9, 2015 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
