Obituary CREVE COEURa"Dennis F. Davis, 53, of Creve Coeur, died at 5:48 PM on Thursday, April 19, 2007, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on July 17, 1953 in Peoria to Harry and Margaret Davis, he married Linda S. Colvin on February 14, 1975 in Monmouth, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, Margaret Davis of Peoria; 2 sons, David (Jennifer) Davis of Bartonville and Scott Davis of Creve Coeur; 1 daughter, Lori Davis of Creve Coeur; 7 grandchildren, Dustin and Justin of Bartonville; Kyle, Austin and Tyler, all of Yates City; and Emily and Andrew of Creve Coeur; 1 brother, Larry (Marilyn) Davis of Bartonville; 2 sisters, Sharon (Ed) Stotler of Camp Grove and Judy (Jerry) Campen of East Peoria; 2 brothers-in-law, Steve Colvin of Peoria and Rolland (Brenda) Colvin of Hanna City; and 1 sister-in-law, Glenda (Gary) Slater of Topeka, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry, and mother-in-law, Harriett Colvin. He was a 1971 graduate of Manual High School in Peoria. Dennis worked at Caterpillar for 33 years, where he was currently employed as a welder in building LL in East Peoria. He was a member of the UAW Local 974 in East Peoria. Dennis loved to fish and had been a member of the Landmark Bowling League in Peoria. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at 5 PM on Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor Jim Gorby will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3-5 PM on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
