Obituary East Peoria - Delores K. "Dee" Slavens, 71, of Sun City Center Florida, formerly of East Peoria, died at 2:19 PM on Wednesday January 30, 2013 at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center. She was born on August 8, 1941 in East Peoria to Donald L. and Mary Falk Cecil. She married Thomas R. Slavens on August 31, 1963 in Peoria and enjoyed 49 years of marriage together. He survives. Also surviving are two sons; Don (DeAnna) Slavens of Princeville and Kevin R. (Leigh) Slavens of Peoria. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Sara Slavens, Stephanie Tucker, Corey Slavens, Kaylee Slavens; and two great-grandchildren; R.J. and Raiden Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents. Dee was a 1959 graduate of East Peoria High School. She retired in 2008, after 27 years in the banking industry, from BB & T Bank as a Branch Manager. Prior to her retirement she served on the board of Directors for Sun City Center Chamber of Commerce. She was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria. There will be a visitation for Dee on Thursday February 7, 2013 from 5-8 PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. There will be a graveside service on Friday February 8, 2013 at 11 AM at Swan Lake Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Deacon Fred Kruse will officiate.
