Obituary
WASHINGTON -Deborah Ann Royer, 59, of Washington passed away on April 7, 2012 at Washington Christian Village in Washington, IL.
She was born on December 13, 1952 in Algona, Iowa to Dr. Kenneth and June Pride. She graduated from high school in Humboldt, Iowa and then attended Iowa Central Community College, Ft. Dodge, Iowa. In 1985, she married Bill Royer in Eldridge, Iowa.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Melissa (Kevin) Sullivan of Washington, IL; and two sons, Todd (Lori) Royer of Marshall, IL and Scott (Nikki) Royer of Clinton, IN. Debbie and Bill have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her father, Kenneth (Sandy) Pride of Humboldt, Iowa; three sisters, Cindy (Gary) Lawson, Beverly (Steve) Templeton, and Annette Pride; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, June Pride, in 1973.
Debbie worked for the Central Trust and Savings Bank of Eldridge, while living in Iowa. After moving to the Peoria area in 1988, she worked for First United Methodist Church in Peoria and for Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington.
Faith and family were the foundation of Debbie's life. She devoted much of her time to the ministries of Crossroads Church, where she was a member. She was also a leader in the Lay Ministry program of the District United Methodist Church.
Debbie had a love of counted cross stitch. She loved to bake and cook. She also greatly enjoyed the family project of raising and showing Suffolk Sheep.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and inurnment will be private in the Columbarium at her church.
