Davis L. Janes, 81, of Edelstein, formerly of Washington, passed away at 11:13 pm Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria.

He was born April 25, 1940 in Peoria to Edgar and Charlotte Janes.  He married Betty Garland in Peoria in 1957.  She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Rick (Jill) Janes, Rhonda Gutierrez, Shannon (Lauri) Janes; four grandchildren, Garrett, TJ, Alec, Dylan; two great-grandchildren, Layla, Lincoln; and one sister, Sharalu.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Allana.

Davis worked at Hiram Walker in Peoria and Comfort Siding in Princeville before retiring.  He enjoyed painting pictures, gardening, and especially loved spending time with his grandkids.  Davis was a retired Shriner.  He will be dearly missed by all.

Cremation has been accorded.  There will be no services.  Inurnment will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
