TREMONTa"David A. Teeter, 53, of Tremont, formerly of Jacksonville, FL, died unexpectedly of a heart attack while working the morning of Tuesday, March 3, 2009.
Born on September 23, 1955 in Batavia, NY to Vernon and Ruth Hatcher Teeter, he married Julie S. Cook on July 4, 2004 in Savannah, GA. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents, Vernon and Ruth Teeter of Washington NC; 2 daughters, Catherine and Caroline Teeter, both of Newnan, GA; 2 brothers, John Teeter of Beauford, NC and Michael (Lorraine) Teeter of Cumming, GA; 2 step-children, Brady Stroot of Orlando, FL and Kylie Stroot of Winona, MN.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Kimberly Teeter, and his grandparents.
David worked for 26 years with CSX Railroad, most of the time in Jacksonville, FL. He had been the president of ATN Railroad in Gadsden, AL, and was currently serving as Chief Safety Officer of T&P Railroad and also for Illinois Midland Railroad since the Spring of 2007.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed farm life, and working on his tractor.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor Bill Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
