Obituary WASHINGTON - David James Parks, 48, of Washington, IL and formerly of Normal, IL, died at 3:20 am Friday, June 26, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on July 19, 1960 in Riverside, CA to James and Sally Mockrud Parks. They preceded him in death. Surviving are 2 daughters, Sara and Emily Parks, both of Washington, IL, 4 boys he was the guardian of: Michael, Wesley, David, and Stuart Maxheimer of Washington, IL, 1 sister, Betsy (Scott) Parks Didrickson of Baraboo, WI, 1 brother, Doug Parks, and 1 nephew and 1 niece, Kristof and Karli Didrickson. Dave worked for Maxheimer Construction in Washington from the early 80's until the early 90's, when he became the manager of Twin Cities Ready mix in Normal, IL. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and barbequing and smoking meats at area competitions. He recently won 1st place in the Chicken Division at the "Smoking in the Park" in Leroy, IL. A memorial service for Dave will be at 3:30 pm Friday, July 3, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will begin at 2 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and the burial of cremains will be private.
