Obituary David R. Mello, 55, of Washington, IL died at 10:50 AM on Monday, December 28, 2009 at his residence. Born on February 13, 1954 in Anaheim, CA to David R. and Karen Logston, he married Jodi L. Bearce on September 15, 2000 in Mt. Sterling, IL; she survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Lauren Mello of Washington, IL and Korrine Mello of Fremont, CA; 1 granddaughter, Adrianna Marie Mello, also of Fremont, CA; and 2 brothers, Dwayne R. (Trisha) Mello of Napa, CA and Donald R. (Rhonda) Mello of Hayward, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents. David attended UCLA, and worked for John Bearce as an automotive dealer for the past 11 years. He was a die-hard Cubs fan, and was able to attend their Spring Training out in Mesa, AZ. He had also attended the Little League World Series. David had been the California State Cribbage Champion and made Cursillo in 1998. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. The Rev. Fr. Tom Hensler and Rev. Fr. Gary Castor will officiate. A committal service will follow mass at the Meadow Valley Center chapel. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, January 1 at St. Patrick Catholic Church as well, where recitation of the rosary will be held at 6:45 PM. Cremation will be accorded following services. Inurnment of cremated remains will be at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
