Obituary David J. Lukachik, 69, of East Peoria, passed away at 10:40 pm Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria. He was born Dec. 28, 1947 in Urbana, IL to John and Olive Chudley Lukachik. He married Dolores J. Berta in Streator, IL on Feb. 28, 1976. She survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Alyson (Mike) Gaspar and Zach (fianc Annie Snyder) Lukachik; and granddaughter, Mia Gaspar. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Steve. David was a beloved coach and teacher at East Peoria Community High School for over 30 years where he was a positive influence on the lives of countless students before retiring in 2008. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the E.P.C.H.S. Key Club or Booster Club, two Clubs that David was highly involved with and passionate about. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria with Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating.
