Obituary David H. Gustafson, 84, of East Peoria, IL and formerly of Chillicothe, IL for 32 years, died at 9:08 am Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL, surrounded by his family. Born on March 31, 1929 in Buda, IL to David Henry and May Florence Hiles Gustafson, he married Mary Joan Starr. They had four children, now all of Minnesota. He later married the love of his life, Harriett A. Madach on December 13, 1958 in Peoria, IL. She survives, along with one son Steven (Diane) Gustafson of Hammond, IN, 1 step-daughter, Deborah (David) Manley of East Peoria, IL, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 step-son, Douglas J. Madach. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran. David worked as a Welder at Komatsu for 34 years, retiring in 1996. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan since his childhood. Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no service or visitation. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family.
