David E. Drum, 60, of Brownstown, formerly a 50 year resident of Washington, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 in Brownstown.

He was born May 24, 1964 in Peoria to Cecil and Elouise Smith Drum.  He married Becky McDougal on June 14, 1986.  She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Hannah Drum; one sister, Vicki (Dave) Hipsher; he loved and adored his nieces and nephews, Jason (Katie) Drum, Aron Hackler, Kaci (Patrick) Satterthwaite, Keli (Kelly) Roberts; and was great uncle to Ella and Asa Satterthwaite, and Kolten and Rowan Roberts.  David loved and honored his Uncle Jack and Aunt Jeanetta Drum also.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lisa Badaluco.

David served in the United States Army from 1983 - 1988.  He was working at Altec fenex in Sandoval at the time of his passing.  Besides his family, one of David's greatest loves was sports.  He was a volunteer baseball and softball coach for kids for several years.  David spent many years sharing his love of fishing with younger family members and friends, and he volunteered for Hooked on Fishing.

As we struggle with our loss, friends and family of all ages remember David most for his gift of making people laugh and the joy that brought him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Countryside Banquet and Catering in Washington on Saturday, August 3rd from 1 to 4 pm.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight.
