David W. Cherrie, 80, of Washington, passed away at 3:10 pm Monday, February 3, 2020 at his home. He was born June 21, 1939 in Washington to John E. and Ethel F. Swisher Cherrie. He married Joan Feemster Storey. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, John, Ralph, Carl, and Gene. Surviving are two children, Jeffrey David (Kristen) Cherrie of Fort Myers, FL, Trina J. (Michael) Saunders of Groveland; six grandchildren, Lucas and Annabelle Cherrie, Katie (Jacob) Ludy, Rachel, Caleb, and Joshua Saunders; and one sister, Eleanor Wenger of California. David was a chiropractor for over 40 years before retiring. He was an avid golfer and loved racing. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Calvary Community Church in Washington.
