David E. Bullard, 89, of Washington, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Washington Senior Living.

David was born November 9, 1936 in Irwin, OH to Joseph R. and Ursul Lininger Bullard. He married Nancy R. Hunt on June 11, 1961 in Mechanicsburg, OH.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Nancy; their children, Mary Garren of Peoria, Joe (Kris) Bullard of Washington, and Jim (Angie) Bullard of Washington; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one -great-great grandchild; his sister, Mary Pauline Blazer; and his sister-in-law, Virginia Chappelear.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Edward and Martha Jean Hunt; and his brother-in-law, Leroy Blazer.

David graduated from The Ohio State University; he was a dedicated Buckeye alum and athletics fan. He was employed at Caterpillar for 38 years, retiring in 1998. Ever the engineer, he always enjoyed tinkering around the house. Camping in all 48 states with his family was a great source of memories and joy for him, even when they took the "scenic route", but any time spent with his family was dear to him. He was a member of the Bridge United Methodist Church in Washington and previously enjoyed being a choir member. David's legacy will be one of a loving father, grandfather, husband, and role model.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Will Meachum will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bridge United Methodist Church.
