David C. "Dave" Becktel, 54, of Washington, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021. He was born October 2, 1966 in Indianapolis, IN to Darryl and Donna Theamann Becktel. He married Jean Ruble on October 11, 2002 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are his parents, Darryl and Donna Becktel; daughter, Danielle Becktel; sister, Amy (Rick) Huntley; brother, Josh (Amy) Becktel; and two nephews, Thomas and Mikey. Dave received his Undergraduate Degree in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and received his MBA from Bradley University and was an Engineering and Marketing Manager at Caterpillar Inc. for 33 years. Dave will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his generous smile, his devotion as a father, his work ethic as an accomplished professional, and his sense of humor. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with Jean at Lake Norman in North Carolina. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and playing trivia. Private services will be held at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to donor's choice.
