Obituary Peoria-Danny Lee Crackel, 62, of Peoria passed away on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 7:05 pm at his residence. Danny was born on August 19, 1945 in Peoria to Kenneth and Beulah Francis (Sapp) Crackel . He married Judy Thurman on July 16, 1965 in Lincoln, IL. She survives. Also surviving are Danny's two sons, Tony Crackel of Peoria and Kevin (Dawn) Crackel of Pheonix, AZ; five granddaughters Brittany, Lexie, Taryn, Tori, and Samantha; and two sisters Elizabeth Pitts and Shirley Davis, both of East Peoria. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenny. Danny retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. where he worked in the Crib at the Mossville plant and was also a retired UAW member. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed family outings, taking short road trips, hunting, fishing, singing and his many collections. He was an avid Cubs fan, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Danny was a dialysis patient for 18 years at Fresenius Medical Care, where he was lovingly cared for by all of the staff. A service to celebrate Danny's life will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 11 am at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Rev. John E. Plunkett will officiate. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5 from 5-7 pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
