WASHINGTONa"Dr. Danilo G. Capati MD, 62, of Washington died at 7:45 PM on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born February 27, 1948 in Angeles City, Philippines to Teofilo and Emilia Gungon Capati, he married Thelma Ligayon on August 18, 1976 in Dearborn Heights, MI; she survives.
Also surviving is his son, Michael Capati of Peoria; daughter, Marieta Capati of Chicago, IL; 1 granddaughter, Aliana Capati of Peoria; 3 brothers, Dr. Remigio (Patricia) Capati of Texas, Rino Jose (Lea) Capati and Mar Capati, both of the Philippines; 3 sisters, Marissa Capati of Texas, Elena (Fred) Malonzo and Persia (Noli) Bundalian, both of the Philippines; and his beloved grand dachshund, Siggy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Loreta.
Danilo was an Allergist serving at Proctor, Methodist and St. Francis Medical Center for the past 27 years. He was also a staff member with the U of I College of Medicine Peoria Branch.
He served as a past president of the Filipino-American Society of Central Illinois.
Danilo was also a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington where a funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, Feb 26, 2011. The Revs. Fr. Joseph Donton and Fr. Moises Apostol will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3-6 PM, concluding with the rosary, on Friday, Feb 25 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Cremation rites will be accorded following the mass.
