Obituary WASHINGTON- Daniel K. Geltz, 64, of Washington passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 8:44P.M. at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Dan was born on September 2, 1950 to Delbert and Aileen Hahn Geltz. He married Barbara Morgan in Washington. They later divorced. She preceded him in death on August 10, 2014. Together, Dan and Barbara had three sons, Brian Geltz of Manchester, NH; Brad (Donna) Geltz of Rosepine, LA; and Jeremy Geltz of Collinsville; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Breana, Owen, Steven, Heather, Aaron, Caleb, & Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Trinity, Trent, and Brentley; three brothers, Jim (Laveda) Geltz, Mike (Tina) Geltz, and Jeff Geltz; and two special cousins, Jan Bockler of Washington and Beverly Boyster of Springfield. Dan was preceded in death by his parents. He was a 1969 graduate of Washington Community High School. He worked at Caterpillar in Mossville as a machinist for 35 years. Dan loved to be outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, or riding motorcycles. He was a Chicago Bears and NASCAR fan. He was a past president of the Kennel Lake Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed traveling, especially to North Carolina on several occasions. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Cancer Care. A memorial service for Dan will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 7:00PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. There will be a visitation an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
