Dan Johnson, 75, of Lowpoint, passed away at 4:15pm on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his home.
He was born August 22, 1945 in Peoria to the late Norman and Esther (Harrison) Johnson. On December 19, 1965, he married Betty Lou Collins at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
Surviving is his wife, Betty of Lowpoint; their children, Leanna (Dave) Klaus of Montana, Lynn (Ryan) Ehlers of Metamora, Matthew (Heather) Johnson of Peoria, and Laura (Ryan) Otto of Congerville; grandchildren, Andrew, Levi, Chloe, Parker, Martha; Olivia, Chase; Alexis; Nathanael, Natalie, Ava, and Luke; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Judy Wilkerson of Washington.
Dan proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam era and was ever proud to be American. He was a long-time Caterpillar employee, serving as foreman at the proving grounds for many years and retiring in 2001. He was a car guy and a very talented woodworker. Dan was a Christian and had an abiding faith in Jesus.
Private graveside services will be held.
