Obituary WASHINGTON - Dale E. Shelley, 78, of 200 Carlson, Washington, IL, died at 9:45 am Monday, September 18, 2006 at Washington Christian Village in Washington. Born on May 7, 1928 in Normal, IL to Dale E. and Alice Eve Durr Shelley, he married Mary Zimmerman in 1949. They had 8 children. Surviving are 4 sons, Dale (Patti) Shelley of San Jose, IL, Joseph Shelley of Indianapolis, IN, William (Rhonda) Shelley of East Peoria, IL and Stephen (Kim) Shelley of Snohmish, WA, 3 daughters, Mary Shelley of Seattle, WA, Donna (Steve) Clark of Parkland, FL and Alice (Craig) Winger of Bremerton, FL 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son, Robert Shelley. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from FW Means after more than 30 years of service. He loved horses and horse racing. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Graveside services are private and will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
