Obituary EAST PEORIA - Dale L. Schofield, 83, of East Peoria, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Reflections Memory Care in Washington. Dale was born October 24, 1931 in Peoria to Glen and Mary Daughters Schofield. He married Lola Nadine Jordan on July, 25, 1953 in Peoria. Dale was a loving husband to Lola for 61 years, father of Nanette (the late, Richard)Lynn of Indianapolis, IN, Jeffrey (Maura) Schofield of Oak Park, IL, and Todd (Lisa) Schofield of East Peoria, IL; and grandfather to Alex and Danielle Lynn, Tyler, Lauren and Alison Schofield, and Taylor and Tanner Schofield. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Wolgan. He was a graduate of Manual Technical High School, Class of 1949, a Korean War veteran with the USMC and a longtime member of Bricklayers Local 6. Dale leaves behind many cherished memories of his unwavering dedication to his wife, family and friends, his exemplary work ethic, and his love for golf, fishing, baseball, and Civil War history. He had a great sense of humor and friends say he was quite the crooner in high school. He never heard a song he didn't want to dance to. He will be missed. A memorial visitation will begin at 1 pm Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria, with a memorial service following at 3 pm. Chaplain Ron Little will officiate. Dale's body has been donated to medical science, per his wishes. Inurnment will be in Fondulac Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Association or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
