Obituary Dale E. Rhodes, 85, of Washington, passed away at 10:55am Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Grand View Special Care Center in Peoria. Dale was born July 7, 1929 in Bushnell, IL to Walter H. and Pearl Mitchell Rhodes. He married Erla Mae Jones on December 3, 1950 in Dallas City, IL; she survives. Also surviving are their children, Timothy (Regina) Rhodes of Bourbonnais, IL and Julie (Mike) Robertson of Washington; grandchildren, Joshua (Amy) Rhodes, Andrew (Eileen) Rhodes, Keith (Corrie) Robertson, and Brandon (Kelly) Robertson; five great-grandchildren; and four siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, and six siblings. Dale served in the US Navy for four years, stationed in Greenland and Labrador. He worked as a delivery driver for several area businesses, and retired from G & K Services in 1988. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bulls, and Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed the simple things, especially sitting on his front porch. A funeral service for Dale will be held at 11:00am Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Tom Goodell will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads United Methodist Church, Washington.
