Obituary MORTONa"Dale E. Peterson, 87, of 113 Hemlock Oaklawn Estates, Morton, went home to meet his Lord and those who preceded him in death at 12:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born May 21, 1921 in Carman, IL one of seven children to Carl Edwin and Ester Johnson Peterson. He married the love of his life, Mildred Louise Rhea on January 23, 1944 in Stronghurst, IL. She preceded him in death on April 17, 1972. Also preceding him in death were 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 grandson and 1 great grandson. Those left to celebrate his life and remember him are his daughter, Barbara Martin of Tennessee, and his son, Mike (Janet) Peterson of Iowa; one sister, Mildred Martin of Oregon; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. He retired from Wabco in 1984 and prior to that had farmed in Stronghurst, IL for many years. Dale was of the Lutheran faith, but also a member of Roland Manor Baptist Church in Sunnyland. Dale was loved by all who knew him, and will be missed by many. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 28 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. The Rev. Dwight Winnett of Hospice will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
