Obituary

Obituary Dale W. Boley, 81, of Washington, passed away at 3:30pm, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his home. Dale was born October 31, 1931 in Eureka to Harold Raymond and Eva Stock Boley. He married Suzane Bowman September 29, 1957 in Peoria; she survives. Also surviving are three sons, Wayne Dale (Kathy) Boley, Washington; Brian David (Dawn) Boley, Whitewater, WI; and Roy Dean Boley, Washington; eight grandchildren, Chad (Stephanie) Boley, Ladina Bordash, Brittney (Marty) Sivyer, Wayne L. Boley, Britton (Gretchen) Rexroat, Benjamin Boley, Aaron Boley, and Gracia Boley; 14 great-grandchildren, Austin, Cameron, Gwendolyn, and Noelle Boley; Kristopher and Olivia Bordash; Breydyn Mendoza; Cole Sivyer; Devin, Lucas, Garret, and Lilian Boley; and Leah and Levi Rexroat; and four nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Raymond Deneen Boley and a brother, Ronald (Ruth) Boley. Dale served his country in the US Army from 1952-1954. He worked for Kimplings Plumbing & Heating in Washington, Robein Texaco, and then Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 30 years. While at Cat, he graduated their apprentice course and ended his career as a manager when he retired in 1997. He was a member of UAW Local 974 and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He was an active resident of Washington, serving with the City of Washington and Tazewell County Emergency Service and Disaster Agencies. He received Washington's Good Neighbor Award, along with his wife, in 1989. Dale was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington, and served as a trustee and member of many committees there. He was a fan of the Peoria Rivermen for over 30 years and belonged to the Rivermen Booster Club. Dale also enjoyed being a Cub Scout leader for Pack 163. Funeral services for Dale will be held at 10:00am, Monday, August 12, 2013 at Evangelical United Methodist Church, Washington. Pastor John Hauck will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm, Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, Washington and one half hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria.
