Dorothy Aileen Orr, 94, of Eureka, IL and formerly of Washington, IL died at 9:15 am Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka, IL.

Born on November 14, 1929 in Memphis, TN to Julius W. and Dorothy E. Bucher Glatz, she married Roy E. Orr Sr. on October 29, 1949 in Danville, IL.  He preceded her in death on July 18, 2006.

Aileen was a mother of 7 children, 5 of whom survive; Rebecca Prunty of Peoria, AZ, Terri (Mark) Dickson of Shelbyville, IL, Tim (Dee) Orr of Eureka, IL and Chris (Mary) Orr and Nick (Jane) Orr, both of Washington, IL, 21 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald E. Orr and a son Roy E. "Ed" Orr Jr., 1 brother, Julius, and 2 sisters, Barbara and Rosalyn.

Aileen worked in the St. Patrick School Cafeteria for 20 years, and later worked part time at Illinois Central College for an additional 15 years.

She was a 61 year member of St. Patrick Church in Washington, where she always remained active, and helped with funeral dinners.  She also was on the Parents Board of Education for Spalding/Academy of Our Lady, and was a room mother, 4-H Leader and Cub Scout Leader.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am Friday, February 23, 2024 at St. Patrick Church.  Father John Steffen will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, where recitation of the rosary will be at 7 pm.  Additional visitation will be from 9:45-10:30 Friday at the church.  A graveside service will be at 3 pm Friday at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Danville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Church or to the American Heart Association.
