Obituary D. Virginia Murray, 95, of Washington, passed away at 9:45am, Sunday December 28, 2014 at Snyder Village Health Center in Metamora. Virginia was born October 18, 1919 in Harrisburg, IL to Wallace and Lucy Dorsey McIntire. She married Carless "Wayne" Murray on December 18, 1945 in Morganfield, KY. He passed away January 19, 1993. Surviving is a son, Carl (Angie) Murray of Washington; and a grandson, Brett Murray of Edwardsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and a step-son. Virginia was a dedicated homemaker for much of her life, and was a talented seamstress and quilter. She and her husband were also avid campers. A guest was always welcome in her home for a visit. The family would like to thank OSF Hospice and the staff at Snyder Village for the compassionate care they provided Virginia. A funeral service will be at 10:00am, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm, Friday, January 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Brother John Johnson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Snyder Village Capital Improvement Fund.
