Obituary PEORIA-Curtis E. Taylor, 62, of Peoria, IL, died at 8:15 pm Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria. He was born on March 19, 1948 in West Plains, MO to Stanton and Ruth Elaine Smith Taylor. Surviving are his mother, Elaine Taylor of Peoria, IL; 3 children, Daniel (fiancee Jennifer Predmore) Taylor of Peoria, IL, Jennifer Stahler of Morton, IL, and Kevin (Jessica) Taylor of East Peoria, IL; 3 grandchildren, Noah Taylor, Zachariah Stahler, and Chloe Taylor; 1 brother, Michael (Lizbeth) Taylor of Morton, IL; and 1 sister, Dale Salzman of Washington, IL. He was preceded in death by his father. Curtis was a US Army veteran, having served in Germany. He worked in engine testing at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Mossville for 38 years. Curtis loved reading, collecting lighthouses, and Emmett Kelly clowns, and was a craft enthusiast. He loved to do yardwork, gardening and loved to eat cheeseburgers. Curtis will be remembered for his zest for life, and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. The Rev. Robert DeBolt will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment of cremated remains will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens at a later date.
