Curtis C. Elder Jr., 69, of Washington, passed away peacefully with family by his side at 10:46pm Friday, September 16, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born September 20, 1952 in Peoria, IL to Curtis and Norma Wright Elder. He married Susan Futhey in Golden, IL on May 7, 1977. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Tom (Stephanie) Elder, John Elder; sister, Eileen (Roger) Decker; mother-in-law, Jeanette Futhey; sister-in-law, Jeanne Higgins; brother-in-law, Richard (Pam) Futhey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Neal Futhey; and brother-in-law, Don Higgins.

Curtis worked in sales most of his life, retiring in 2010. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packer fan. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Cremation has been accorded; there will be no services at this time. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
