Obituary EAST PEORIA-Connie Gerard Poliak, 66, of East Peoria, IL, died at 2:37 pm Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Washington Christian Villiage in Washington. Born on October 6, 1945 in Peoria, IL to Richard and Betty Welch Schooly, she married Ronald W. Gerard Sr. in 1963. He preceded her in death in 1975. She later married Robert Poliak in 1980. He survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Ronald Gerard Jr. and Joseph Gerard and 1 grandson, Stephen Gerard, all of East Peoria; her mother, Betty DeBates of West Peoria; and 2 brothers, James (Pat) Paul of Metamora and Brad (Debra) Paul of Washington. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Jim Paul, who also raised her. Connie dedicated her life to being a homemaker for her family. Funeral services will be at 10 am Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Pastor Jim Gorby will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the funeral home in Washington. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
