Connie Norwood, 80, of Washington, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born October 5, 1943 in Peoria to Thomas B. and Elizabeth Heinz Norwood. Connie worked as a hairdresser for many years, last working out of Miguel's Salon. She volunteered her services for over 20 drama productions at Washington Community High School.   Her family was most important to her, and she enjoyed a close relationship with them, especially her nieces and nephews and their families. She was best known as Aunt Connie, a title and role she cherished.

Connie is survived by her siblings, Tom Norwood of Spring, TX and Criss (Steve) Aitken of Washington; her nieces and nephews, Scott, Dan, and Mark Norwood, and David and Brian Aitken; ten great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister in law, Jackie Norwood.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am Friday, February 9, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, and one half hour prior to Mass at church. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
