Obituary Connie Alexander, 66, of Washington, passed away at 8:23am Thursday, March 3, 2016 at UnityPoint Methodist in Peoria. Connie was born June 26, 1949 in Peoria, to Ralph and Velma Owens Jones. She first married Terry Pyle on July 27, 1968 in Peoria. She later married Richard L. Alexander on April 26, 1996, also in Peoria. Surviving is her husband, Dick of Washington; daughters, Michelle (Cale) Eilers and Kristen (Chris) Newman both of Washington; 3 grandchildren, Caleb and Emma Newman, and Grant Eilers; 1 brother, Robert (Brenda) Jones of Orlando, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barb Wignall. For many years, Connie operated a daycare out of her home in Washington. She loved the children she cared for, and their families, like they were her own. She later went to work for many years as a receptionist at the Red Cross in Peoria, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria since 1981. Connie's memorial service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Grace Presbyterian Church. Pastor John Hopwood will officiate. Memorial visitation will from 5-7:00pm Monday, March 7, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington; additional visitation will one half hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
