Obituary
Clifford J. Cirillo, 61, of Washington, died at 12:35 pm Friday September 17, 2010 with his family at his side at his brother's home in Colorado Springs, CO.
He was born May 29, 1949 in Swickley, PA to Joseph and Enid (Lodwick) Cirillo. He married Gayle Daniel September 16, 1967 in Davenport, IA. She survives of Washington.
Also surviving are his mother, Enid Cirillo of Davenport, IA; a son, Michael (Vicki) Cirillo of Washington, a daughter, Michel (and Mark) Hohenbery of Metamora, IL; three grandchildren, Mason and Madison Hohenbery and Lauren Cirillo; four brothers, Basil "Zag" (Michelle) and Francis both of Colorado Springs, Co, Eddie of Maquoketa, IA, Gary of Kirkland, WA; and a sister, Kathy (Bill) Odom of Bettendorf, IA.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother John.
He attended the University of Iowa and Bradley University.
Clifford worked his way up through the ranks at Caterpillar, Inc. starting in the shop in 1967 and moving into the office by 1977, ultimately becoming a supervisor of computer programming and earning the designation of Senior 6 Sigma Black Belt.
He was a senior member of the Society of Engineers and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Davenport, IA while living there.
Clifford will be remembered as a devoted family man who was in touch with what matters most in life, never to worry about the little things. He gave everything he had to the task at hand, whether work or play. His appreciation for the serenity and beauty of nature sustained his inner peace.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral on Saturday.
