Obituary
PEKIN-Clarence Edward Nash, 76, of Pekin, IL, died at 3:30 am Sunday, October 23, 2011 at his residence.
Born on July 6, 1935 in Pekin to Kenneth and Melissa Marie Oltman Arnett, he married Geraldine Haynes-Cohenour on June 13, 1952 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Warren "Ed" (Belynda) Nash and Mark (Tonya) Nash; 4 daughters, Geri Lynn (Rusty) Williams-Ripsch, Debra Hinderliter, Drew Nash, and Kathrine Nash (Tony Davis), all of Pekin; 1 brother, Walter Arnett of Rockford; 14 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Warren Nash, 1 sister, Doris Howell, and 1 son-in-law, James Hinderliter.
Clarence worked as a laborer at Corn Products and he also worked at Conklin Lumber, both in Pekin. He gave his life to the Lord during his teen years. He taught numerous bible studies around the state for many years. Clarence won many souls to the Lord. His first love was the Lord and his second love was his wife, Geraldine. Clarence was an avid euchre player and cribbage player. He also loved baseball & fishing.
A memorial service will be at 7 pm Thursday, November 3, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Pekin. Pastor Mark Friday will officiate. Visitation will be 5:30-7 pm Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the church. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation rites have been accorded.
