Obituary Cindy A. Alexander, 63, of Washington, passed away at 4:38am, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria. Cindy was born October 7, 1953 in York, PA to Shoreland C. and Wilma I. (Dawkins) Matthias. She later married Robert Alexander on May 6, 2000 in Peoria. Surviving are her husband, Rob, of Washington; siblings, Jeff Matthias of Indiana and Linda Matthias of California; two nieces, Elaine and Audrey Matthias, their mother Susan Moffett; and two sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents. Cindy graduated from Richwoods High School and the University of Iowa where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She retired from MultiAd in 2015. She loved the outdoors, including biking, kayaking, camping, and hiking. She was an original member of the Pimiteoui Trail Association, and long time member of the Illinois Valley Wheelm'n and Illinois Valley Striders. A celebration of life for Cindy will be held at 7:00pm friends are welcome to stay and share memories until 9:00pm Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hanover, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pimiteoui Trail Association.
