Chuck Chandler, 69, of Washington, passed away at 10:20am Sunday, April 18, 2021 at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria. He was born April 21, 1951 in Peoria to the late Charles B. and Violet Earlene (Joiner) Chandler. He married Terry Mitchell on February 14, 1983 in Washington. Surviving is his wife, Terry; children, Jason Mitchell, Jennifer Faulkner, Charles Chandler, and Skyler Chandler; and a grandson, Chance. He was also preceded in death by a sister. Chuck was a true patriot, serving in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. For many years he was active in Veterans Service Organizations like AMVETS, VVI and DAV. He was a loyal, active member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 100 in Washington. He retired after many years of service from Altorfer Cat Rentals as a quality specialist. Chuck was a jack of all trades who lived life well. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved playing golf and pool, but most of all cherished time spent with his grandkids. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, and his funeral service will be private. Interment with military honors will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
