Obituary WASHINGTON-Christopher R. Limas, 50, of Washington, IL died at 9:45 AM Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born on May 4, 1963 in Toledo, OH to Robert and Jo Ann Cangas Limas, he married Mary E. Wayner on November 28, 1992 in Washington, IL; she survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Nicholas Limas, Henry Limas, Jack Limas, and Isabella Limas, all at home; his parents, Robert and Jo Ann Limas of Tinley Park; 2 brothers, Joseph (Christine) Limas of Gurnee and Greg (Rosario) Limas of CA; 1 sister, Lisa (Daniel) Rakowski of Homewood; mother-in-law, Gene Ann Wayner of Washington; and 2 brother-in-laws, Mark (Emi) Wayner of Ft. Collins, CO and Robert Wayner of Berwyn. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert H. Wayner. Christopher grew up in Chicago Heights, IL. He graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights where he was very successful in running track; still holding many records. Christopher then graduated from Iowa State University in 1989 with a degree in Urban Development and Planning and was a current member of the American Planning Association. He worked for City of Bolingbrook, City of Peoria, Village of Richton Park, Village of Willow Springs and City of Rochelle. Christopher loved watching his children's sporting events and activities and was an avid Washington Panther and Central Trojan fan. He attended Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington. A Funeral Service will be at 6 PM Monday, March 3, 2014 at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington. Pastor Tom Goodell will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Monday, prior to the service at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children c/o Heartland Bank.
