Christine Edwards, 71, of Washington, passed away peacefully at home at 11:10 am Wednesday, December 8, 2021. She was born August 5, 1950 in Marquette, MI to the late Lowell Jerome and Rose Catherine Gillespie Cooper. She married Paul G. Edwards in Manistique, MI on August 8, 1970. He survives. Also surviving are three children, Josh (Gabrielle) Edwards, Rachal Edwards, Jordan (Jennifer) Edwards; five grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother. Christine was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for over 40 years. During that time, she volunteered whenever she could, coordinated the parish's funeral dinners, and was a member of the Women's Guild. She was an avid knitter and crocheter and often donated the items she made to local organizations. For over 20 years, Christine and her husband traveled the country in their fifth wheel trailer. She had a knack for finding the most unique towns to explore, which always included going to local antique shops. Christine's greatest joy was being a grandmother. Whenever she could, she would cheer her grandchildren on at sporting events, even sometimes watching from a distance online, spot them a $20 bill, and always have a sweet treat for them to snack on. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Monday, December 13th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Cremation will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
