Christine P. Brooks, 55, of East Peoria, passed away at 9:48pm Thursday, October 28, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria surrounded by her loved ones. She was born February 24, 1966 in Peoria to John and Patricia Reed Schmitt. She married Douglas Brooks on May 4, 1985 in Creve Coeur. Surviving is her husband Doug; daughters, Jessica (Mike) Kelly of Metamora and Ashley (Justin) Taylor of East Peoria; grandkids, Madilynn and Mikey Jr.; mother, Pat Schmitt of East Peoria; and sister, Lisa (Tyler) Salisbury of Normal. She was preceded in death by her dad, John in 2012. Chris loved junking, collecting antiques, and revitalizing old furniture. No matter where she went, she was on the lookout for treasures. She turned her passion into a business, operating Kiwi's Treasures for several years and loved being a flea market vendor. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandkids. Chris was a caring, loving and generous person who touched the lives of so many. Chris' family will receive friends from 5-9:00pm Friday, November 12, 2021 at Countryside Banquet Facility in Washington. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is serving the family.
