Cheryl Ann Coen-Perez, 65, of Charleston, IL passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born October 6, 1960 in Akron, Ohio to the late Aletha Leisure.  She married Ruben Perez in Charleston on February 22, 2004.  He survives.

Also surviving are five children, Naomi (Brian) Prunier, Ruben (Tonya) Perez Jr., Matthew (Maria) Perez, Albert Stone Jr., Corey Stone; seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Hallie, Isaac, Broxton, Anslee, Dominic, Ryker; and three sisters, Jeanie Rorabaugh, Frances Lord, and Terry McAmis.

Cheryl loved her family, including her pets, and she loved flowers.  She was an amazing cook and she made sure no one around her went hungry.  This extended to those around her who were in need.  She embodied Jesus through this gift of service and she shared His gospel through her works.  She was an extremely hard worker and an asset everywhere she worked.  She instilled this hard work ethic in her children.

Per her wishes cremation has been accorded.  There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, share a meal with a friend or neighbor in need.  It's what she would do.
