Obituary Charlotte Rae Keithley, 86, of Washington, passed away at 3:56pm, Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Charlotte was born August 28, 1927 in Prairie Township, McDonough County to Theodore R. and Rachel B. Manly Taylor. She married Donald C. Keithley on May 5, 1950 in Peoria; he preceded her in death on July 8, 2004. Surviving are their children, Terry (Jean) Keithley of Tremont, Krystal (Ed) Divora of Wenona, and Dina Keithley of East Peoria; grandchildren, Megan and Nicholas Keithley, Heidi Teason, and Bridget Malone; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Kennedi, and Jaylen; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Keithley. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Erin Malone. Charlotte graduated from Macomb High School in 1945 and later Northwestern Beauty School. She previously worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in East Peoria and LeTourneau-Westinghouse in Peoria. She was an avid alumni, she loved attending and organizing her high school class reunions. She loved music and was part of the choir at Sunnyland Christian Church, where she was a member. She also served as an election judge in Tazewell County for many years. Charlotte had a green thumb, and loved to garden, feed doves and other birds. She enjoyed genealogy and was a charter member of the National Museum of the American Indian. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. A visitation to celebrate Charlotte's life will be held from 12noon-2pm on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Private interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorials: Memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Tazewell Rescue Squad.
