Charles (Charlie) Roberts was born on August 10, 1934, and passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. He was 88 years old. Charlie was born in Peoria, Illinois to George and Irene Roberts, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Georgia Emert, and one niece. Surviving family members are his daughters Vickie duBois (husband Jay) and Lisa Brannan (husband Terry), and granddaughter, Megan duBois, and his sister, Joyce Masters. Charlie had multiple nieces and nephews, along with the family he chose for himself.

Charlie worked for Thompson's Food Basket, in Sunnyland and Peoria. Later in life, he owned Tony's Pizza in Metamora. He was a lifetime member of Taylor Masonic Lodge and the Shriners in Washington and Peoria, Illinois, respectively. Charlie was a member of Northwoods Community Church in Peoria.

He loved gardening and watering his flowers at his apartment before moving to Washington Senior Living. At the nursing home, he enjoyed spending time with his friends as well as cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. When the game was on, family and friends knew that they were only to call if there was an emergency because he was going to be watching the game.

Charlie knew that every other Friday night was pizza night, and enjoyed sharing a slice with the nurses who took care of him. He will be remembered fondly by many. His life was filled with joy and compassion for others and he was always sharing what he had with everyone.

Charlie's family has requested that well-wishers donate money to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
