Obituary
Charles C. Milligan Sr., 77, of Washington, died at 2:44 PM, on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
He was born on January 2, 1929 in Monteray, Tennessee to Benjamin Casto and Sarah Elizabeth Norwood Milligan. He married Helen Mae Allsup on June 10, 1950 in Peoria, Illinois; she survives.
Surviving are 2 sons, Charles C. (Bettie) Milligan, Jr. of Olympia Fields, IL, and Benjamin R. (Patty) Milligan of Washington, IL; 1 daughter, Wanda (Roger) Madry of Foristell, MO; 1 brother, James (Shirley) Milligan of Harlingen, TX; 2 sisters, Nomia Earlene (Joseph) Hedges of Wichita, KS, and Peggy Smith of Cowan, TN; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Benjamin.
He was a Research Mechanic at the Caterpillar Proving Grounds, where he worked for 38 years.
He was a member of UAW Local #974, and the Greater Pekin First United Pentecostal Church.
He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. The Revs. Huey and Robert Long will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at Monteagle Cemetery in Monteagle, TN.
